In this episode, I Interview Phyllis West, M.S.W., MPH, PH.D, a Professor at Govenors State University in Illinois. She is known in the academic community for being an Activist-Scholar who has a demonstrated record for working with communities of color around the principles of healthy living.

She shares with us the work that she is doing with Public Health Brigades, which involves leading groups of students to countries like Ghana, Nicaragua and Panama. It is there that students have established legal clinics, built latrines, upgraded plumbing systems and other projects that work to improve public health systems.
